Join us on Saturday, March 8th at 7pm, for the top 10 hymns/worship songs. as voted for by the parish.
On Saturday evening we will reveal the parish’s favourite hymns and Christian songs and have a good time singing them. People across the three churches voted for their favourites and everyone is welcome to join in singing them.
This will be followed by refreshments.
Did you know there is a Valentine’s Waltz? It’s a bit staid compared with what we have in store for you this February 14th – none other than a barn dance!
The Valentine’s Day Barn Dance will take place at St George’s, Badshot Lea, on Friday, February 14th, starting at 7pm. Kris Lawrence will be the caller and take us all through our paces as we dance to the music of Dragon Scales. Don’t worry – Kris is an expert caller and always explains clearly what we have to do.
If you don’t want to dance, that is OK too. Just enjoy the atmosphere, the music and the sight of everyone else making fools of themselves, er, dancing perfectly!
Entry to the barn dance is free, though donations are appreciated, and there will be a raffle. Bring your own snacks and drinks.
As we move towards Christmas we celebrate with carols sung both in church and outside, and on Christmas Eve we hold crib services at all three churches (two crib services at St George’s!) and then Midnight Mass beginning at 11.30pm in St George’s and St John’s.
We then celebrate the wonderful news of the incarnation of God on Christmas morning in all three churches.

Friday, December 20th, 6pm at Hale Chapels (cemetery, Alma Lane), followed by refreshments at St Mark’s.
Monday, December 23rd, 6pm around the tree at St George’s.
All Tuesday, December 24th. Come dressed as your favourite Nativity character.
3pm: St John’s.
3pm: St George’s especially for toddlers.
5pm: St Mark’s.
5.30pm: St George’s.
Tuesday, December 24th, 11.30pm, at St John’s and St George’s.

Please join us for a Christmas-themed quiz on Saturday, November 23rd, at 7pm at St George’s, Badshot Lea.
It’s suitable for all ages and will be a great family event with fun questions and lots of opportunity to socialise.
Free entry, but donations towards parish funds gratefully received. BYO snacks & drinks.
The Badshot Lea Christmas lights will be switched on at a celebration at St George’s Church on Monday, November 18th, starting at 5.30pm. There will be singing, fireworks, hot chocolate, mulled wine, mince pies and the Christmas lights on the school opposite the church will be switched on.

If you have lost a close friend or family member and would like an opportunity to remember them and light a candle for them, we are holding ‘All Souls’ services’ this weekend. These simple services of music, prayer and reflection will take place as follows:
St John’s, Hale (near the Six Bells roundabout) on Saturday, November 2 at 4pm; St Mark’s, Upper Hale (next to Tesco Express) on Sunday, November 3 at 11am; and St George’s, Badshot Lea (opposite the school) on Sunday, November 3 at 5.30pm.
During the services you will have the opportunity to light a candle in memory of the person or people you have lost.

All are welcome to our All Sung Service on 6th October, 2024 at St George’s Church from 10am.
No experience necessary, just come and sing!!
Celebrate harvest with us in all three churches on September 22nd. At St John’s the service is at 9.30am, St George’s 10am and St Mark’s 11am.
St Mark’s we will include our normal Apple Day celebrations in the service and eat apple pie and other apple snacks after the service.
We are collecting tins and packets for Farnham Foodbank. The Foodbank especially wants tinned soup, instant mash, tinned rice pudding and custard, tinned potatoes, UHT juice.
It’s autumn , but while you might imagine that scarecrows can have a rest once the harvest is in, not so. Not only do they have to look after the newly planted winter wheat and other crops which are grown at this time of year, they may be called on to take part in a scarecrow drive or two?
A scarecrow drive? What’s that? It’s a seasonal beetle drive, where, instead of rolling a dice to collect parts of a beetle, you roll one to collect parts of a scarecrow. And we are holding one at St George’s on Saturday, September 21st from 5.30-8pm.
It’s a sociable evening suitable for all ages, and we’re throwing in a supper too for those who would like one. You need to pre-order and pay for it and the costs are: fish £10; chicken £9; sausage £6, veggie burger £7; all with chips. You need to let Kris Lawrence know by September 18th if you want to order the food. Click here to tell her. If you want to bring your own food, please do, but please still let Kris know if you are coming so that we know numbers.
There will also be a raffle and entertainment. Please let Kris know if you would like to take part in the entertainment.
The Parish of Badshot Lea and Hale
