Funerals

Please be reassured that during the coronavirus pandemic we are still going to be able to conduct funerals but they will be at the graveside or in crematoriums and there will be strict limits on who can attend. We will do everything that we can to ensure that your loved one receives the funeral that you wish for them and we will do whatever we can to provide extra support.

The first thing to do is to contact us to find out more.

Everyone who lives in the Parish can have their local priest conduct their service, and everyone can be buried in St John’s Churchyard. Contact us to find out more.

If you are recently bereaved then we are here to help and support you in any way you can. You will need to find a Funeral Director and we can help you do that if you wish. If you would like a funeral at the graveside or at the crematorium, the Funeral Director will contact the clergy to make the arrangements and to deal with all financial matters.

One of the clergy will contact you to discuss the service and to answer any questions you may have. They will be ready to offer you support in your bereavement.

If you choose to bury your loved one in St John’s Churchyard then there are regulations that we are bound by. You can find a summary of these here.

If you are bereaved, as well as talking to one of the clergy we have bereavement visitors. We cannot visit at the moment but can speak on the phone. If you would like to talk to one of the clergy or a bereavement visitor, please contact us on 07842 761919 to arrange it.
