Everyone who lives in the Parish can have their local priest conduct their service, whether at the Crematorium or in one of our three churches, and everyone can have a church funeral and be buried in St John’s Churchyard. Contact us to find out more.
If you are recently bereaved then we are here to help and support you in any way you can. You will need to find a Funeral Director, we can help you do that if you wish. If you would like a funeral or a thanksgiving service in Church or a funeral at the Crematorium, the Funeral Director will contact the clergy to make the arrangements and to deal with all financial matters. One of the clergy will meet with you to discuss the service and to answer any questions you may have. They will be ready to offer you support in your bereavement. Music for your service can be specially arranged.
There are many different types of funerals so we have put all the options on this page.
If you choose to bury your loved one in St John’s Churchyard then there are regulations that we are bound by. You can find a summary of these here.
If you are bereaved, as well as talking to one of the clergy we have bereavement visitors, and there is a local group for those who are bereaved: https://www.friendstogetherbereavement.org/. If you would like to talk to one of the clergy or a bereavement visitor, please contact us on 01252 820537 to arrange it.
