I am a fully trained counsellor and psychotherapist and currently teach on a counselling degree course. I have an MSc in Therapeutic Counselling from the University of Greenwich. I am also a priest in the Church of England. Although faith and spirituality inform my practice, my training is based on secular models. I am not a Christian Counsellor, but rather a counsellor who is a Christian. I enjoy working with people from all faiths and none. I value working with people who desire to grow, find purpose, and find freedom from unresolved issues. I have expertise in working with trauma, particularly adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. I work with adults and currently, my practice is online.

Praying throughout Lockdown
If you have heard the bells ringing every evening since the start of lockdown Mark Two, at St John’s, Hale, and St George’s, Badshot Lea, and have wondered what is going on, the answer is that this is part of a call to prayer. The archbishops and bishops are calling on everyone to pray at 6pm every day throughout lockdown and churches each to ring a single bell at the same time. Find out more here.
Churches open for prayer
During this second lockdown the churches are closed for services, however two of our churches are open for private prayer: St George’s, Badshot Lea, is open on a Tuesday and a Saturday, and St John’s is open on a Thursday and a Sunday. Both will be open 9am-4pm.

Good News
At a recent consultation Alfie Davies who we have been praying for (Peter Davies’ grandson) was told he is fully in remission – cancer free! They will keep an eye on him over the next five years.  Alfie can look forward to leading a normal life. The family would like to thank us for our prayers.

Lockdown
From Thursday the government have announced that the churches will close for Services but they may open for private prayer until December 2nd.
Month of Prayer
The Archbishops, in consultation with the House of Bishops, decided that during lockdown we would have a month of prayer. This call would take the form of an invitation to every Christian and person of good will to pray at 6pm every day, beginning this Thursday 5 November for the period of this present lock-down. In order to stimulate this time of prayer, where it is possible, churches are encouraged to ring a single bell at 6pm. The Archbishops promised some resources in the form of different styles of written prayers with a particular thematic focus for prayer each day. The weblink to the resources is https://www.churchofengland.org/more/media-centre/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-churches/call-prayer-nation. In addition, please find here a direct link to a simple printable prayer booklet  – Prayer Booklet.
