Free Family Fun Day

Come and have some free fun this half-term!

Everyone is welcome at our free Family Fun Day with a free lunch which will take place on October 27, 10.30am-1pm at St Mark’s Church.

There will be crafts, music, games, table tennis and a lunch with vegetarian and meat options. There will also be a quiet area for those who prefer this and an adviser to talk to families about special needs if required.  Free of charge, donations welcome. For more information email Michelle.

Free Barn Dance

Come to the free barn dance at St Mark’s , Upper Hale, on Saturday, October 15th, at 7pm, with local favourites Cajun Boogaloo, well known for their presence at festivals, clubs and pubs around the UK and in Europe.

There will be traditional reels, square dances, circle dances and a lot of fun for all ages and abilities, with clear instructions from caller Kris Lawrence. Those who don’t feel energetic or who need a rest can sit at the tables around the church. People are invited to bring their own food and drink, but tea, coffee and cake will be available for sale. There is no entrance fee but donations are welcome.

Friday Night is Games Night!

Friday Night Games Night is back!

The ‘Youth Club for all ages’ is back at St Mark’s on the second and fourth Fridays of the month from 7-9pm, so the next two are November 11th and November 25th.

We have the table tennis tables out, along with our small pool table, board games, jigsaws, and maybe even a game of sock golf. There will be teas, coffees, squash, cake biscuits served and a lot of chat.

Book your tickets for the Harvest Supper

Saturday, October 1, 6-9.30pm

On Saturday, October 1, there will be a Harvest Supper at St George’s for the whole parish, with supper, entertainment and a raffle, starting at 6pm. Bring your own alcohol but soft drinks will be provided. Tickets are £10 adult; £5 child (under 16).

It’s always a great evening and if you fancy taking part in the entertainment, let Kris Lawrence know by emailing her at warden.stgeorges@badshotleaandhale.org. Tickets will be available in church or from Kris at the above email address, or call Stella Wiseman on 07842 761919.

At the Harvest Supper we will be auctioning these two lovely Nativity sets, made by Michelle Chapman’s father. There is a three-piece set (four pieces if the manger and baby are separated) and a 12-piece set (13 if manger and baby are separated) All money raised will go to church funds.

Craft Market and Free Harvest Lunch!

We are holding a craft market and free harvest lunch on Saturday, September 17, at St Mark’s Church, from 10am to 2pm, with a free lunch served from noon.

Come and browse the stalls, full of beautiful craft items, listen to live music, and enjoy a free lunch which we are offering in conjunction with the Hale Community Centre and Community Fridge which is dedicated to sharing good food with everyone and reducing waste.

Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

Free Family Fun Day

Free lunch provided, plus music, craft, table tennis and a chance for parents to relax and chat. Everyone welcome.

Save the date for the parish fete!

The parish fete will take place on Saturday, July 9th, 12-4pm at St George’s Church, Badshot Lea.

This is a whole parish fete, hosted by St. George’s, and we are now collecting bottles (for the bottle tombola), items suitable for tombola prizes and toys in good condition. Please leave these safely in any of our churches for collection. On the day we would appreciate donations of cakes.

There will be a craft fair there, a raffle, tombola, barbecue, a bar, tea cup ride, games, refreshments, entertainment, and a chance to catch up with friends.

We also now have raffle tickets for sale – please buy some and take some to sell to your friends. Any questions, contact Maxine Everitt.

Midsummer Magic

Enjoy some Midsummer Magic at St George’s on the evening of Friday, June 24th, at 7.30pm, when Carillon Singers and the Parish Choir come together for an evening of light music, African songs, some well loved classics and new songs.

There will be refreshments in the church hall following the concert. Just come along and enjoy the evening – no need to book.

This will be the last time Carillon will present under the leadership of Samuel Rolles. Looking forward, Carillon will have a new Musical Director, and are looking for new choir members. If you are interested, please look at the website, carillonsingers.co.uk or ring 01252 655849 for more details.

Music evening for Christian Aid

Come to a musical evening on Saturday, May 7, at 6.30pm at St George’s Church, Badshot Lea, all in aid of Christian Aid.

There will be singing by In Accord and the Church Choir as well as soloists and a chance to have a singalong. There will also be saxophone music, piano, the organ, and much more.

Drinks and nibbles will be provided and all this for just £5, payable on the door. Children have free entry.

So join us at St George’s on May 7 at 6.30pm and help raise money for Christian Aid.
