Your September magazine is here

We are heading for autumn which means it is Creationtide and time for our September magazine.

It’s a bumper month with lots going on: Creationtide, Harvest, a Scarecrow Drive, the Autumn Craft Market, a concert and cream tea in memory of Frances Whewell, a brand new clothing bank and café, an interfaith prayer event and the first of our Pet Services, as well as all the normal groups, events and services.

Inside you will also find news and reflections on what has been going on recently.

So sit down, relax and happy reading.

Different faiths and miracles

Interfaith Women’s Group

The next Interfaith Women’s Group will take place at St Mark’s Church on Saturday, May 20th2.30-4pm when we will be talking about miracles. How does our faith influence our view of miracles, what do we mean by them, do they happen now?

The group is a joint venture between the parish and Lajna Ima’illah, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association and usually takes place on the fourth Saturday of each month at St Mark’s but is earlier this month because of the forthcoming half-term.

The group discusses topics that most concern us today, such as social media, gender-based violence, inclusion, education, equality, bringing up children and many more. There is also plenty of tea and cake!

Women of all faiths and none are welcome.

After a highly successful first meeting, the next Interfaith Women’s Group will take place at St Mark’s Church on Saturday, March 25th, 2.30-4pm. This time the group will be talking boundaries – how we set them, why they are important, whether societal expectations give women more of a challenge in setting them than men face. There will also be opportunities to talk about faith journeys.
