Write a poem with your thoughts on the Coronation!
We love a bit of poetry in the Parish of Badshot Lea and Hale, so we are asking you to send in some poems about the Coronation and we can put them up in our churches and on the website.

On the Sunday of the Coronation weekend, we will be celebrating at all the churches on May 7th.
The service at St John’s will be at 9.30am, followed by cake and Prosecco; the service at St George’s will be at 10am, followed by a cream tea; and the service at St Mark’s will be at 11am, followed by a bring-and-share lunch.
At 4pm on Sunday 7th, our regular, monthly Family Service will take place at St John’s with more Coronation celebrations, along with sandwiches and cake!
All are welcome at all or any of our services.

Prayers will be available across the Diocese social media channels – feel free to share your prayers and thoughts using the hashtag #CoronationPrayers until Coronation Day on May 6th.
Spring is here and even the hint of summer, with blossom, fresh green leaves, meadow flowers and … a Coronation! We have special Communion services on the day following the Coronation, each followed by a celebration involving a toast to the new king. We also have our monthly family service at St John’s on May 7th, including a Coronation celebration, sandwiches and cake.
There is a lot going on this month in the parish and the magazine is full of events, thoughts, a report on our new Parish Needs Process, a reminder about the coming summer fete, and issue two of the new Badshot Leader, produced by the Badshot Lea Community Association.

Come to our all-age family service on Sunday, May 7th, at St John’s Church at 4pm.
There will be a party to celebrate the new king – Charles III – with craft, songs, stories, cake and sandwiches.

Coffee Artz at St Mark’s – a morning of coffee, cake, chat and artistic endeavour (no skill or experience needed) – is expanding. It will now be on the third Thursday of the month as well as the first Thursday, so is on this week (19th) from 10.30am to 12pm at St Mark’s, Alma Lane.
This week the group will be exploring colourful ways of using paints and fabrics to create unique items and a group Coronation collage. They will also be eating cake, drinking coffee and tea, and socialising.
Everyone is welcome – just turn up!
North Farnham is all set to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a long weekend of events between June 2nd and 5th, arranged by the parish, North Farnham Voice – a group of residents dedicated to caring for the area – and the Hale Community Centre.
The events are:

10am -12 noon FREE activities with Bouncy Castle, Games, Fire Engine, Music, Treasure Hunt, Tug-o-war and Ramble
St Mark’s Church
12.30pm – 2pm FREE JUBILEE LUNCH with live music and a display of photos of people and past events from Hale History Project. Plus, a chance to see and hear more from the experts about the recently restored Kitty Milroy murals.
Hale Recreation Ground
2pm – 4pm Bring your own PICNIC IN THE PARK and enjoy more live singing and music and dancing displays by local groups. (Toilet facilities open in the Institute and Scout Hut)
The Church on the Green will be selling teas and coffee and will be holding an exhibition of Jubilee memorabilia.
10am St George’s Church Outdoor Songs of Praise.
11am Badshot Lea Primary School fete.
12 noon St John’s Church, Hale, Service of Thanksgiving with the Bishop of Dorking and the Scouts.
1pm St John’s Church churchyard BIG LUNCH with BBQ* and music. Bring your own picnic.
