Poetry Evening

The poetry evening which was postponed in June has been rearranged for Thursday, October 3rd at St Mark’s, starting at 7.30pm.

There will be an open mic and a chance to chat about poetry. Refreshments will be served or bring your own.

Whether you are a budding poet or a practiced professional, or you just
like to listen to poetry, come and join us at St Mark’s for a friendly, inclusive evening. There will be no pressure to read anything out, but you will be welcome to if you wish.

Admission is free but donations will be welcome. To find out more, contact poetry@badshotleaandhale.org or call 07842761919.

  1. Dear Stella,

This sounds lovely but the email arrived late yesterday evening for tonight. The evening hourly bus doesn’t fit in and I’m out for almost four hours for Sunflower and a tiny shop for neighbours returning from Italy at the bewitching hour of midnight.

I can’t go out again without company for Meg.

Do let me know if there’s another get-together with practised poets and others. I’d be a listener as I write only prose.

I’m intending to bring Meg to 9.30 or 11.00 a.m. on Sunday, depending on when Durdana, Arkem and Hunni (her sister whom I’ve met before) are coming round.

There are strict rules for post-eye surgery to avoid infections from dust, soil, hair, etc. One is no vacuuming or dusting for eight days, not ideal for visitors in a cottage which accumulates A31 gritty dust daily!

I think of Ed and hope he’s feeling stronger. He is blessed with a loving support system. I don’t know personally but I suspect and hope that really helps.

    Love from, Linda
