15 ‘Thank-you’s

Recently Alan and I have been having some work consultancy from Steve Cox who works at the Diocese and he told us about something that he has found to be transformative. Apparently, each morning, Bishop Andrew thinks of fifteen things that have happened in the last 24 hours that he is thankful for. He chooses the number 15 because you have to start thinking hard about what was good about your day to get up to that number. Steve Cox said it has really helped him now that he is doing it too.

Alan and I have started trying it and it is amazing – it turns out that even the most difficult day with the darkest meetings has lots of moments of light within it. It has made us more joyful.

So now, whenever I meet a member of the Diocesan team, I ask them “Have you heard about the Bishop’s 15 ‘thank-you’s”?

“Yes,” they say, “amazing isn’t it?”

Why don’t you try it too?
